"The history of the Elemental Lords extends beyond our grip of time and existance, they are constant, they are everlasting, they are the base of all things that live.
Everyone and everything hails from the elements around us, but few pay them the attention they deserve, they demand.

These Elemental Lords are from ages past, when the people believed in the lord of elements.
Millenias goes by, and the current gods is forgotten and new gods step forth.
The Elemental Lords has stepped down, hidden themselves in the shadows of the current gods.

My name is Damon Yang, and by the time you know of these guys, you should know who I am.
I have but two words for you, my friend; Fear them!"









Ancient names

Lord of Fire - Ardente'sono'fuoco - (Flaming - I am - Fire)
Lord of Ice - Congelamento'sono'ghiaccio - (Freezing - I am - Ice)
Lord of Earth - Pietra'sono'terra - (Stone - I am - Earth)
Lady of Air - Vento'sono'aria - (Wind - I am - Air)

Lord of Negative Energy - Guasto'sono'Morte - (Dead - I am - Death)
Lady of Positive Energy - Vivo'sono'vita - (Alive - I am - Life)

Lord of Shadow - Nerezza'sono'ombra - (Darkness - I am - Shadow)

These ancient names has rarely been used, and if they was, they were mostly inscribed on objects.

Other info

These lords all have a lord opposite to themselves, except Lord Shadow.
Their personality is quite similiar, and so they do not like to work together!
The powers they have at their fingertips far outmatches the powers from a God!
This is because they have a plane behind them, a plane of infinite size which they can use as their raw power.
If a God would try to battle against a lord, the God would fail, no exception.

Background

Forgotten ages past these lords were the current gods, who took care of their peoples.
Today, they are ancient, almost forgotten. The few who remembers them call them Elder Gods.

Those few who have dwelved deeply into this matter knows they are more than just gods.
They are the personification of the elemental planes. A sentinent being of its plane.

Faith

Ages past the left the godhood business to the current gods.
Because of that, they no longer answer any prayers, unless its a real old faithful creature from the old times.
Or, if the one praying happens to be a really important creature, or a chosen warrior of a lord.

This makes it very hard to teach this faith to others, because they wont answer anyone, wont make their presence heard.

Chosen warriors

The lords can chose a warrior, and only one at a time, to be their instrument of influence and power in the world.
These warriors will do the lords dirty work.

These warriors receives powers directly from the lord in question, see Magical Forces.
This makes these warriors feared, powerful, and few.

A warrior that has left his lord will retain all his current powers. Which might lead to problems.

Element vs. Energy... and Shadow

There are four lords of the basic elements, two lords of energy, and lastly, one lord over shadow.
The energy lords are more powerful than the elemental lords. Shadow fall somewhere in between.
The negative and positive forces are more powerful and more important parts of the structure of the world than the rest.
Shadow has no real lord oppsite him. Shadow is instead the opposition of free will itself.

Lords vs. Gods

Some lords might be very close to a god in what they do, what the represent.
The god, the Reaper and the Lord of Negative Energy is very close in what they do.

The Lord of Negative Energy is the sentinent force of negative forces, while the Reaper is a god over death.
Living creatures would fall under the domain of the Lady of Positive Energy while the undead would fall under the domain of Lord of Negative Energy.
The dead falls under the domain of the Reaper as God of Death.

The Lord of Negative Energy is the force that drives the undead, while the Reaper can only control and/or influence it.
There is a pact between the two, saying that any undead created or under the control of the Reaper, such a tie, the lord may not touch.
But... A chosen warrior of the lord can cut these ties.
The God of Death has the power to raise any corpse to undeath or take control over any undead, but may not do so with creatures created or controlled by the lord or his chosen.

A gods job is to watch over the world, and push it in their favored direction.
Together the gods create a balanced world, so to speak.
Because of this, it is often said that a God knows everything that happens in the world, within limits.
But since the lords are no longer 'gods', they do not automatically know what happens in the world.
The gods have powers that help them manipulate the world in their favor, and doing this easily.
While a lord would need to spend considerable much more power to reach the same results.
